Watery Wednesday #7

OK - this week's Watery Wednesday is stretching things a bit. I think you all will quickly get tired of little girls in bathtubs - so I am taking the water to it's coldest interpretation ... snow!

When the girls were 10 months old, I decided I wanted them to feel the cold of the snow. I am more of a fall/winter person than a spring/summer person, and I wanted to see the girls' reactions to the cold to determine where they would fall on the season spectrum. Problem? I had no snow clothes for them at all. I wanted to take them out and hold their arms when they walked around, but I wasn't about to if they weren't dressed warmly.

I thought of a solution. Rather ... make that my dumbest idea ever. "Hey! We'll just hang them out the back door and let them feel the snow!" (My mom is holding them in these shots. Accomplice.)

First to go, Miss Katie ...

Poor child LOST it and I don't blame her. Look at the snow stuck to her hands! What the heck was I thinking? I am a bad mommy! File her in the spring/summer column.

Did that stop me from trying it with Miss Maddie? Nope.

Maddie took it much better, considering she almost did a face-flop right in the snow. She was all, "That's cool. I need a good book to chew on."

I found my winter child!

You crack me up! What a lovely way to learn about "cold!" This is very appropriate w/ yesterday's snow & yes, I still hate it!

Great snow story! I think it was a fine idea although there were tears. Last winter we bundled up Jason,Jr. and Annabelle and took them out in the snow, they were so bundled they could barely move, I don't think they even smiled when we pulled them on the sled. They were not out ther long.

You are not a bad mom, the 5 senses are very important, LOL. Those are adorable.

Her hand looks icy. I like the snow all bundled up nice and warm.

LOL! Poor baby. Don't feel bad. I think I would have tried that too. :-D Thanks for participating in Watery Wednesday... even if it was snow but that is frozen water. :-D Nice twist.

Cute pics!
Maybe she was shedding tears because she wasn't finished playing! :)

I didn't mean anything bad. You children are so cute. When she is older she will be begging to go out in the snow. When I was little I would go play in the snow till I could not feel my fingers. Then when you come in, it hurts to warm them up. I get the pictures big by putting them on Flickr and then putting the code onto blogger for the biggest picture.

I remember the snow....I used to fill the bathtub with snow so K & K could play in it without really going outside on a miserable day...a sweatshirt and mittens were enough because they just bent over and played in it. It only lasted maybe 15 minutes but by that time they would move on to something else. Andrea
