The girls were baptized on July 22, 2006 - and it was watery! Our church has the baptismal fount in the gathering space (lobby) not inside the church - and it was nice because everyone could gather around and watch and be up close and personal.
Andy was holding Katie and I was holding Maddie. I honestly can't remember if they cried - but I think they did!
Here is the picture we used for the favors that day. Maddie (left) is wearing my baptism gown and Katie (right) is wearing my cousin Fortunata's, who is also her godmother. I loved the tradition of wearing an heirloom - and although I really don't think the dresses will last another generation (they were so delicate and thin we were afraid to even wash them) - I hope the girls will want to take them with them one day.
Enjoy!

Awwww! How adorable. They are so cute! I love how you captures the water pouring from his hands. Thanks for participating in Watery Wednesday! :-)
What a Wonderful Watery Wednesday Post! Great memories!
Wonderful photos!
Thanks everyone! I have to search for something for next week!
Such a wonderful post!
I too liked the water pouring from his hand.
The photo of them together is precious.
I'm sure they will want to take the dresses. Framed in a shadow box with a picture would be awesome.
What a nice post, and beautiful girls, too.
That is a nice watery picture. Great photos.
I will never forget that beautiful day for our family....seeing your girls baptized into the Roman Catholic faith....the priest was wonderful that day....and so was the luncheon : ) !
Your girls are so precious, and this is a wonderful contribution to WW. Thank you for sharing such a very special and treasured moment in your lives. Wonderful photographs.
Thanks, Denise! That's sweet. :)
A truly wonderful Watery Wednesday post. Water is so important to us in so many ways. This shows how sacred it it. Thanks for a great post (and adorable babies in adorable outfits). And thanks for visiting my blog!
Hi Ro! How are you? I come onto your site often to see pics of the girls and read about what's new in your busy household! Anyway, I need to post more - but of course I couldn't NOT post to this one...omg they are so sweet. I have the wallet size of their baptism and keep it in my wallet - they are SO precious. What incredible sentiment in the history of their gowns. I have no doubt, no matter how fragile the material, this will continue to be passed down for generations. What is watery Wednesday anyway? I am enjoying it, but thought it was something you came up with...I am enjoying just the same!!!! Love to all...
What very sweet little girls and such delightful bundles of joy. A nice way to mark watery wednesday.
